VietNamNet Bridge - The State-owned Viet Nam Feature Film Studio this week began filming Am Anh Xanh (Green Obsession), a TV series about the fight against corruption.

With a script written by celebrated writer Chu Lai, the 36-episode series tells about the activities of a group of former soldiers who fought in the war for national liberation and now work in the police’s anti-corruption department.

The protagonist of the series is senior Lt. Col. Ut Them, an experienced policewoman who has discovered several corruption-related crimes.

Them faces difficulties in one case in which the offender is a former soldier who fought in the same military unit with her during the war.

Performing the role of Ut Them is Thu Huong who played the protagonist in TV series Co Thu Ky Xinh Dep (The Beautiful Secretary) which was a hit in Viet Nam years ago.

Directed by well-known director Chau Hue, the series features Viet Nam’s society in 1995, two decades after peace was restored in the country.

"The series will be shot in many places including HCM City, Ha Noi and Mui Ne in Phan Thiet Province," Hue said.

Hue has made many TV series for the HCM City Television Film Studio and Viet Nam Feature Film Studio in recent years.

His series is similar to Huong Nghiep (Job Orientation for Youth) and Ky Tuc Xa (Dormitory) featuring the lifestyle of young people.

The filming of Green Obsession, estimated to cost VND5billion (US$277,778), will be completed early next year.
