Phu Quoc.

Vietnam, with its different landscapes and climate, has a bevy of tourist destinations but of these, beaches seemed to attract the largest number of tourists, especially the coastal city of Nha Trang, southern Phu Quoc Island, Phan Thiet, Vung Tau, Halong and Do Son.

Tourists visiting the beaches can enjoy fresh air, swim in cool water, savour various kinds of seafood and stay at nearby luxury hotels and resorts.

To usher in the Year of the Dog, Saigon – Phu Quoc Resort is offering many new programmes in Phu Quoc Island. They include sailing with fishermen, trekking in the forest and exploring the islets on horseback. But the highlight is “Evening party on yacht” – where tourists will dine on seafood, listen to live music and watch dancing while enjoying the tranquility of the Phu Quoc Sea on the yacht.

Halong Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It will take about four hours to appreciate the amazing landscape of Halong Bay on boat. Or tourists can choose to tour the Bay by helicopter or spend a relaxing night in the bay.

Tourists going to Mui Ne (Ne Cape) in Phan Thiet City will enjoy the sandy beaches while sports junkies can choose to swim, surf, kite surf or canoe. Other interesting activities include watching the night fall on doi cat hong (red sand dune) and visiting Lau Ong Hoang (prince’s palace) and Posanu Cham Temple.

For tourists who like diving and want to see coral reefs, Nha Trang is the place to be.  Van Phong Bay and Doc Let are other places to visit in the city.

If tourists prefer to enjoy cool weather in Tet and see clouds on mountains’ tops, visit the highlands city of Dalat in Lam Dong Province and northern city of Sapa.

Hue City and Hanoi are the best for those who love culture and history. During Tet, it usually drizzles in Hue City, creating a special atmosphere in the former royal capital of Vietnam. Visitors can have their pick of mausoleums, pagodas and temples to find old imprints or visit the villages in the outskirts of town to enjoy fresh air.

Hanoi attracts visitors with its beautiful landscapes, quaint old streets and the cool weather. This is also where the Vietnamese choose to have pilgrimages during Tet.

Hoi An, an ancient town in the central province of Quang Nam, is another cultural destination. Thanks to its small size, Hoi An, dotted with ancient streets, Cua Dai Beach, Cham islet and villages, invokes a warm and cozy feeling.
