VietNamNet Bridge – The central coastal resort village Mui Ne will have hundreds of more rooms to meet the increasing number of visitors as local resorts are finishing their accommodation facilities. Vo Ta Ngoc, general manager of the Sea Lion Beach Resort and Spa, said the tourism and trade services firm Eden was building a conference hall and 80 rooms in addition to the 166 rooms and bungalows already put into service. Ngoc said the investment company would open the hall able to accommodate 300 people before the inauguration of the 80 new spacious rooms prior to October this year. Ngoc did not disclose the investment in the new developments but said they would help consolidate the resort with the biggest number of rooms in Mui Ne in Binh Thuan Province. Eden Co. had invested around US$8 million in developing the seaside four-star resort on 3.5 hectares on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in Phan Thiet before opening it late last year. More facilities will be opened for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) guests and groups of guests, who are the target customers of the resort. Ngoc said the resort had signed contracts to accommodate many large guest groups toward the end of this year, and that most of them were from Europe. Many Vietnamese are booking Sea Lion and other resorts in Mui Ne as now is the peak tourism season for Vietnamese. To cash in on the influx of international and domestic travelers, Rang Dong Construction Co. plans to open the Sea Links golf course resort in July, according to the deputy director of the Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Le Thi Thanh Lien told the Daily on the phone on Wednesday that the Sea Links golf course resort also included villas and a five-star 250-room hotel. The Phan Thiet-based company had previously planned April 30 for the opening of the second golf course in Binh Thuan. This golf and hotel project owned by Danao International Holdings has garnered acclaim for its windswept dunes and singular holes. The sand-based Sea Links golf course is part of a mammoth sport and resort complex under construction since April, 2006. The private company Rang Dong has projected an initial investment capital of around US$25 million in the complex. The project covering 162 hectares also includes over 290 villas, swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurants, and other service and entertainment facilities aimed to attracted local and international leisure and business travelers. Binh Thuan registered tourism revenue of VND660 billion (nearly US$40 million) in the January-June period, or more than half of the year's target of VND1.2 trillion. This new target is VND155 billion higher than last year, or a year-on-year increase of nearly 15%. Lien said Binh Thuan had 132 guesthouses, hotels and resorts with 4,800 rooms in total.
